As the Building Plans and Codes Coordinator, you are responsible for coordinating with various construction and design personnel to ensure new restaurants are built to code. In this role, you will assist with any technical, troubleshooting, and communication tasks needed during the planning and execution of new builds. This role is essential for ensuring that restaurants are built economically within regulations, as well as ensuring that build details are exchanged in a timely and organized manner.

The Building Plans and Codes Coordinator is a Support Team role based out of our Corporate Office in Norcross, GA in the metro Atlanta area. Our Corporate Office Support Team consists of 300+ Associates who are committed to supporting our Operations Team as they proudly serve and create memorable experiences for our Customers. What you'll do:

• Oversee and coordinate the building plan process between internal teams, AutoCAD, Architects, and Engineering consultants
• Review building plan requests and quality control plans before distribution to the permitting team
• Prepare instructions, notes, and response letters for plan submittals and resubmittals to address code comments
• Review soil reports and collaborate with structural engineers to design appropriate foundations (e.g., post-tension slabs)
• Coordinate on-site inspections and resolve code concerns with consultants
• Troubleshoot site issues with Construction Superintendents and Project Managers
• Maintain up-to-date data and reports in network drives and Smartsheet
• Deliver pre-construction order letters for long-lead materials

What we're looking for:

• Exceptional attention to detail and written communication skills
• Confidence, reliability, and strong organizational skills to manage a high volume of detail
• A self-starter with a positive, solution-oriented mindset
• Knowledge of building plans, civil plans, surveys, and relevant codes (ADA and state codes)
• Experience negotiating with plan reviewers and coordinating with technical professionals
• Familiarity with Smartsheet is a plus

Experience/Educational Requirements:

• Associate’s degree; Construction or Real Estate field preferred
• Prior experience in construction design, permitting, or technical project coordination is strongly valued
