Drafting Specialist - Architectural Zoning & Code Compliance

📍 Brooklyn, NY | 💼 Full-Time | 💲 $35-$40 per hour

Are you detail-oriented, fluent in Revit, and confident working with NYC zoning and building codes? We're seeking a Drafting Specialist to support a small but fast-growing architectural consulting business based in Brooklyn. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with architects, contribute to high-impact projects, and help shape how buildings get built across the city.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for producing high-quality drafting work using Revit, supporting zoning analysis, coordinating plan sets and shop drawing reviews, and ensuring designs align with NYC zoning, building code, and energy envelope requirements. You'll work directly with the firm's leadership and other team members across the globe to keep projects running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Draft plans and documents in Revit with precision and clarity
• Interpret and apply NYC zoning regulations and building code
• Finalize and review zoning analyses
• Coordinate and review shop drawings and plan submittals
• Adapt to changing site conditions and field updates with creative solutions
• Communicate effectively with the in-house architect and external stakeholders
• Catch and correct errors before submissions
• Contribute to a collaborative, solutions-focused work environment

What We're Looking For

• Strong proficiency in Revit
• Deep understanding of NYC zoning , building code , and energy compliance
• Prior experience preparing and reviewing zoning analyses
• Meticulous attention to detail - you catch what others miss
• Comfortable coordinating across time zones and collaborating with a remote team
• Self-starter with a creative approach to problem-solving
• Experience in the architectural or drafting industry required
• Architectural license is a plus, but not required

With a lean core team and remote collaborators worldwide, the company is rooted in community but focused on expanding into broader markets. You'll work directly with the business owner, an in-house architect, and another drafter in a small, collaborative office setting.

Pay: $35-$40/hour

Schedule: 5 days/week (some flexibility may apply)

Location: On-site in Brooklyn, NY
