Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
• 3-5+ years of experience in field project sites, construction settings, or multi-work sites.
• Experience ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local legislative requirements.
• Strong understanding of OSHA, NFPA, and ANSI general industry standards.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Master's degree in Environmental Sciences or Industrial Hygiene.
• EH&S-related training and certifications.
• Experience with EH&S Management Systems (EHSMS).
• Knowledge of waste disposal and spill response procedures.
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Job Description
Insight Global is seeking an EH&S Specialist to join a manufacturing and renewable energy company located in East Hartford, CT. You will support and deliver Environmental, Health, and Safety programs to protect employees from industrial, occupational, and environmental health hazards. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legislation and complete regulatory inspections, audits, and permit requirements accurately and on time. This role involves conducting routine site audits, primarily in New England, with occasional domestic travel. You will develop and implement EHS policies and procedures, provide timely training, and support new employee orientation. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to ensure EH&S requirements are prioritized. You will also direct waste disposal, handle spill response, and conduct safety meetings and training sessions. Compensation:
$28-50/hour
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
