Description We are looking for a detail-oriented technician to join our team on a contract basis in Santa Barbara, California. In this role, you will oversee operations, assist patrons, and support the educational environment by managing resources and facilitating programs. If you have strong organizational skills and a passion for fostering learning, this position is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact. Responsibilities: - Manage daily operations, including circulation, shelving, processing, repairing, and inventorying library materials. - Assist with ordering books and resources to maintain a well-rounded library collection. - Perform clerical tasks such as generating overdue notices, preparing statistical reports, and maintaining electronic and monetary records. - Provide individual assistance and contribute to instructional activities within the library. - Supervise volunteers, offering guidance and direction as needed. - Facilitate reading incentive programs by recommending books, planning activities, and conducting read-aloud sessions. - Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing library environment.. Requirements - Proven experience in administrative assistance and customer service. - Proficiency in data entry and familiarity with tools like Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. - Ability to organize files and manage schedules effectively. - Experience with scanning documents and performing shipping functions. - Strong communication skills and the ability to assist patrons in a meticulous and courteous manner. - Attention to detail and the capacity to generate accurate reports. - Commitment to consistent and punctual attendance.
