Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for coordinating and supervising the design and planning of water and wastewater facilities and/or projects, using general knowledge of basic engineering theories, principles and methods. The individual ensures compliance with government standards and regulations are in adherence to the design, permitting and construction of all components of the water and wastewater systems. Responsibilities of this position may include monitoring regulatory permitting and compliance issues, evaluating water and wastewater treatment operational data and master planning of the overall utility system.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology is required. A minimum of four (4) years of experience working as an Engineer or Engineering Technologist in water/wastewater treatment and conveyance. Knowledge of standard engineering concepts, practices, and procedures associated with water and wastewater treatment is required. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages, particularly Excel. Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Water and Sewer Modeling Software and ESRI (GIS) software packages is also beneficial. Ability to travel to all reservations and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays. In the event of an emergency, must also be willing to work evenings, holidays and weekends.
